This family is a special one, let me tell you friends. The Kemps are the type of people that you just can’t help but smile when you are around them. Tim and Heidi are FULL of LIFE and by far the most loving and joyful souls out there. When they were blessed with sweet little Karsyn a couple years back I knew that they were a force to be reckoned with. Heidi and Tim have spent countless years as middle school teachers and don’t just “teach” but truly pour into their students with life, passion and they build a connection that exceeds the classroom.
What truly holds a special place in my heart is that they have been not only one of my biggest supporters since I first started my photography journey but were the ones to lay that foundation wayyyy back during my 8th grade year. I remember filling out my application to be in Yearbook with the iconic Mr. Kemp (everyone raved about how amazing he was and I’d never had him as a teacher). Needless to say, I got in to the class and the year was filled with figuring out what a DSLR camera was and endless photo assignments, projects and activities that launched this photographic passion of mine. I remember being in awe with the things you could do with a camera and the joy of being behind the camera and capturing what took place in front of my lens.
This, my friend, is the fruit of living out your calling and pouring into others. I honestly don’t know how Tim and Heidi spend all day with middle schoolers but I sure am glad that they have the patience and joy to do it. Because without people like them who knows where we all would be? Spending the afternoon with them in Joshua Tree was pretty much perfect, so take a scroll and enjoy. xo.
